Computer Vision

Computer vision is a very exciting and useful field. Instead of building specialised devices to monitor an important object - e.g. the position of a gate - can be done purely with a camera. Automatic identification of trained objects (signs, gates, vehicle types) is possible. Monitoring devices that can’t be normally monitored (e.g. an older device with only LEDs for output that can’t be opened/modified) can be monitored and used to update real time data. Imagine being able to add monitoring to old water pumps with oil monitoring without any modifiation to that device.

Some of the more advanced things that can be done, include monitoring the depth of a water tank or damn.
